Sequim - the North Gateway to the Olympic National Forest. Sequim and the Dungeness Valley, with low rainfall and mild climate, are popular travel destinations and retirement communities. Worthy attractions are Sequim Lavender Fields, U-Pick Farms, wild animal farm, Dungeness Spit, the longest sand spit in the U.S.A., and a marina on Sequim Bay. There are nearby saltwater resorts and year round golf courses. The annual Irrigation Festival, oldest continuous community festival in the state, is held the first week in May.
