Port Hadlock, south of Port Townsend is the gateway to Marrowstone Island and Fort Flagler State Park. The three communities of Port Hadlock, Chimacum and Irondale, are at the cross roads leading to the most popular tourist activities.
Less than a mile past the turn off to the islands Oak Bay County Park welcomes campers to a seaside setting on the bay and to a wooded park above the bay. A short ride down Oak Bay Roads leads to Port Ludlow.
West of the Tri-Area Highway 19, Anderson Lake Road winds up to the Anderson Lake State Park, a day park popular trout fishing.
Adding to the list of popular parks and playgrounds are Chimacum County Park next to the H.J.Carroll County Park, a play field open to the public for enthusiasts of almost every sport.
Port Ludlow, at the west end of Hood Canal Bridge on the Olympic Peninsula, is a residential and recreational community. Anchored by a resort with a 27-hole, championship golf course, restaurant and marina, Port Ludlow received the "Project of the Year" award from the National Association of Home Builders as the "best residential community for active adults in the United States".
