2008 ANNIVERSARIES:
220th Anniversary of Naming of Mt. Olympus by Capt. John Meares in 1788. In 1792 Capt. Vacouver refers to the "Olympic Mountains" on his map. In 1864 the name "Olympic Mountains" was officially adopted.
75th Anniversary of Olympic Peninsula Directory & Map OPTA, first published in 1933.
